About the project
Amma Don is a so-called "speakeasy" cocktail bar and the brainchild of master chef Þráinn Freyr Vigfússon, best known for his Michelin star restaurant Óx.
Amma Don (Amma meaning "grandma" and Don meaning "boss") is a well-off fisherman's wife from the countryside. She helped build up the town she lived in and was always there when people needed her. She's the first person you seek out if there's trouble a-brewing, to sit down with a drink and find the solution to all the world's problems. Cheers for Amma Don!
Goal
Establish the magnetism and elegance of an Icelandic fisherman's wife that always has something good to top off your glass, whether the occasion is happy or sad.
Design
The Icelandic matriarch might be a little bit intimidating at first glance, but when her warmth comes through, it is truly unique. The design elements of the branding can at first appear inaccessible but at a closer look they are filled with details that are welcoming to all.
Conclusion
Homely, Icelandic sophistication at its best.

The home gives an insight into the life of an Icelandic dame in the 60s.
